Tribute To Malice Green

You can erase the face but the message is still there
we're not blind to see you just don't care
each time you come to erase the face
it'll be right back like an athelete in a race
so carry your hatred to your grave if you dare
and when god ask :
"Why didn't you care".

WHY I WRITE

Financial gain is not why I write
I write for the pleasure
the pure delight
my words represent the way I feel
they help me keep my world real
my time I write
preferably at night
it keeps me at peace
that's why I write.

The Hats

I love my hats
but they don't represent me
they give me an opportunity to be free
but also show a little personality
rather they're red, black, tall or wide
I wear my hats mainly outside
and I sort of feel good as a matter of fact
I guess that's why I wear my hats.

From the Cradle to the Grave

From out of the womb up to momma's arm
life will explode like a clock alarm
laying in the cradle or the rocking chair
and as much as you try; no one cares
crawling on your knees and pulling stuff down
almost ready to walk around
While stumbling on the floor
almost ready to walk out the door
The things on the street, you start to crave
from lack of discipline you start to behave
Misbehaving on purpose for attention you need
Searching for love until your heart starts to bleed
with a bleeding heart, you just don't care
and you search for love anywhere
Anywhere is now; living in a cave
and that's what took you from the cradle to the grave.

People Underground

I see them sleep and beg for food
trying to get help
while we treat them rude
some want help
while others don't care
but who are we to judge
now don't you dare
People underground is what they're called
depending on your city
if you care at all
if you take time to talk to a few
you'll realize they're just like me and you
so the next time you see them
don't stare with a frown
offer some help to the people underground.

Too Young

So sweet the taste to sour the mood
had to tell him but didn't want to be rude
just over twenty-one in his day in age
but once I met him my whole world changed
hard as a rock but soft to the touch
because of the age
I knew we wouldn't achieve much
much too young couldn't break the rules
but I sure felt like a child in school
we spent some time, had lots of fun
goodbye baby,
you're much too young.

Family Tree

There's nothing more precious
than family to me
but the branches are broken
on my family tree
rumors, nosiness and the
gossiping voice
leaves me with only
one choice
to plant and
grow my own tree
and pray this family
will show more respect
for me.
